At Aldersgate, we offer classes to help you in your journey with God and in our church.
Connect 101 is an introduction to our church. In this class, we explore the core beliefs of Christianity, the history of the United Methodist church, and the vision and mission of Aldersgate. Scheduled several times a year, this class provides a snapshot of who we are and what we do. If you would like to learn more about our church or are thinking about becoming a member, then this class is for you.
The goal of the Christian life is to grow, to become more and more like Jesus Christ. We do this not by trying harder but by training wisely. This training is built on spiritual practices that John Wesley called “means of grace.” In this class, we explore and experience the “means of grace” through which we grow spiritually, focusing primarily on two of them – Bible study and prayer.
The way you’re wired is no accident. God designed us with a unique shape to serve others; and when we serve according to our shape, we come alive! This class helps us identify and use our Spiritual gifts, Heart, Abilities, Personality, and Experiences for a life of significance that is marked by fruitful and fulfilling service.
When we pray, God works; and when God works, our world is changed. Prayer is the key that unlocks the power of God in our lives and in our community. Each week, we gather to pray for our church family, broader community, and world.
Weekly Bible Study
Few things in life are as dangerous as studying the bible. It calls us out of the status quo and into a new adventure. It tells the story of what God is doing in the world and invites us to be a part of that story. Each week we gather to study God’s word and be comforted, challenged, and changed by it.
