Thank you for visiting Aldersgate United Methodist Church!
Aldersgate has been a “Spiritual Home for All” in Orange County for more than 50 years: children, youth, young adults, adults, families – people of all ages connecting through Christ. Whatever your interests, there’s a place for you.
You’ll be greeted at the door by one of our members and our ushers will give you a bulletin outlining the Order of Worship for the service and a schedule of all the different ways to connect at the church throughout the week. From there, you’re welcome to take a seat wherever you’d like. After the service, please join us for refreshments on the patio and stop by the Connection Center to pick up additional information about the church and our many programs.
What can I expect in the service?
We have one worship service at 9:00 AM. Child care is available
Our Sunday morning service lasts just about an hour and features a blend of traditional and modern worship elements. You’ll find traditional hymns, sermons with a biblically relevant message, and a choir that sings everything from Faure to Gospel. Some Sundays also feature our children’s choirs and Miracle Movers dance troupe.
Children are always welcome and we feature a weekly “children’s moment” before they depart for Sunday School. They are, of course, welcome to stay for the entire service if they’d like. We also have nursery care for infants and Bible study for Junior and Senior High Youth.
We follow the Safe Gatherings policy guidelines to ensure that all children are safe and cared for.
Do I have to dress up?
Dress comfortably – shirt and shoes required, of course!
You’ll see everything from golf shirts and jeans, shorts in the summer, to dresses, coats, and ties. Most people come “Southern California casual.” Wear what makes you feel comfortable. We welcome everyone!
Will I have to introduce myself?
No, we won’t ask you to stand and introduce yourself to the whole congregation. We would like to know you visited, however, and will ask you to consider filling out our attendance book found in the pew.
Do you serve communion?
We do partake in Holy Communion as part of the service on the 1st Sunday of every month.
Instructions for how this happens are always given by the pastor and visitors are welcome to partake or remain in their seats. Gluten-free options are also available.
Parking is located behind the church in the parking lot. Alternate parking can also be found off of Wass Street. Handicap spaces are available.
We're here to help!
Most importantly, we want you to feel welcome.
There are always friendly greeters and ushers available to answer your questions or direct you to someone who can. If you’d like to speak to someone before visiting, please contact our church office at (714) 544-3653. We hope to see you soon!
